Practical Perspectives is the first
in several changes in organisation to Folio. Over time this section
will expose readers to a range of different material types for
the classroom. The contributions to this section will be presented
so that readers are able to try them out with their own students
if appropriate. If you think others can benefit from your classroom
materials, please send them to me.
:: Research
Perspectives
In Research Perspectives the focus speaks for itself. Articles
based on some form of research connected to materials development
will be included in this section.
:: Publishing Perspectives
Publishing Perspectives is aimed at
insights into the world of commercial publishing. There
will be two regular columns in this
section; one from Dorothy E Zemach, an editor with CUP;
and the other from Chris Mares, a commercially published materials
writer.
However, articles from other authors will also be welcomed
in this section, so please send them in.
:: Spotlight on a Materials Writer
This regular feature will contain
a question and answer
interview with a materials
writer. I would appreciate your input on mat-erials
writers you would like to see put in the hot seat.
:: Review
The Review section will contain analysis
and evaluation of materials sent to Folio for review. Carrie Steenburgh
will be our regular reviewer, but, again, if you have a review of
materials you would like published, please send it in. And publishers
who want their books reviewed please send a copy to Carrie at Union
County College, IIE, 12 West Jersey Street, Elizabeth, NJ, 07202,
USA.
:: Individual Perspectives
Individual
Perspectives is the place where all the other articles focussing
on an aspect of materials develop-ment not
covered by the other sections will be housed.
If you would like to publish a research
article in Folio, please email Folio's editor, Rod Bolitho for more information or to discuss ideas for your article.
